Liz Wheaton's passion for drawing and painting goes back to her early childhood. Born and raised in Northern California, she always knew she would be an artist. Her focus quickly fell on illustration as a career objective, prompting an application to Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. After graduating with Honors in 1980, Liz returned to the Bay Area to develop her freelance business.
